The K13 Type Ballast Hopper Car is mainly used for laying ballast in new construction and maintenance of standard gauge railroad line.
1. Main Structure and Basic Dimensions
1.1 Main Structure
The K13 Type Ballast Hopper Car mainly consists of car body, unloading system, coupler and draft gear, braking device, bogie and other parts.
1.2 Car Body
The car body is a full-steel welded structure without a center beam, consisting of a chassis, side walls, end walls, hopper, control room and other parts. The main steel sections and plates are made of Q450NQR1 high-strength weather resistant steel.
1.3 Chassis
The chassis is welded together by traction beams, side beams, sleeper beams, end beams, small cross beams and steel floors.The traction beam is made of hot-rolled 310 B-shaped steel with a yield strength of 450MPa. The sleeper beam is a variable cross-section box shaped structure welded from upper and lower cover plates and double web plates. The side beam is a 180mm high rectangular steel pipe. Using a forged upper center plate with a diameter of 358mm and a front slave plate made of C-grade steel.
1.4 Hopper
The hopper is welded together by middle and side hopper plates, middle and end partitions, ballast beams, guide plates, etc., among which the adjustment plates and guide plates are connected with bolts.
